It's been a bit

Bazaar season has come and gone! *whew!* Finally.
After PCC Karis found us one more bazaar at Madison High School. But it didn't go well.
So we won't talk about it.

Fall term is over, Bazaar season is over and thus Karis and I's winter break begins!

What do we have planned for such a coveted event you ask? Simple.

Craft.

Karis has been knitting, I have been scrap booking and attempting the raging beast that is my sewing machine.

We will keep you guys up to date with our craftyness. We have plans to try our sweet skills at screen printing. Oh yea.
With wax paper.

Did you guys noticed we added stuff to our Etsy shop? No? Well here it is!
Did you see that we consigned our first local artist? Her name is Patty, and here is her bitchin' quilt!

See you later.

Cascade Heights and PCC!

These past two weeks have been a whirl wind! Between getting ready for finals, slaying finals, bazaars and custom orders we are ready for Christmas break!

Saturday the first we were at Cascade Heights public charter school. Now Karis and I have never heard of this school and I vaguely knew what a charter school was. To say the least we didn't know what to expect. We set up shop the night before and arrived Saturday morning expecting the worst and hoping for the best.

It was a blast! We were busy most of the day and most of the people we were having transactions with were kids. They were pretty amazing.
 Karis of course.
Soon I'll put up pictures of both of us. So you know we are both real.

We loved this bazaar! I heard whispers and them doing it again next year but trying to advertise it more. We will be there. ;D

We met a wonderful lady who was selling reusable sandwich bags that Karis fell in love with. Check her out at her Etsy shop!

And our box farm animals. Always a hit!

The Portland Community College bazaar was interesting. We knew about this one because Karis used to go to PCC for Japanese. So it is understood by all persons involved PCC is a FLYING PONY away from our house. To get there we took the Sellwood bridge which is a nightmare in the morning. After traversing the treacherous roads we made camp in the college center of the campus. It was a very long bazaar (8am - 6pm) and it felt like it was slow going. We did loose quite a bit of sales because we do not accept debit while we are at bazaars. So next year, or maybe as soon as spring, expect us to have the fancy square! The marvelous device that quickly and simply allows us to take your money.

WOW! This is a longer than usual post. I am sorry for the longedness and dryedness. I hope future posts are more joyful and glorious.

I want to give a shout out to one of our followers Markus. Follow his blog here. Here is a cute male fellow who lives in Europe, as I'm told. He has an adorable pattern on his blog for a christmas tree. Thanks for being amazing Markus!

Beaverton Bazaar 2012

Can I say that we got 17 pages views yesterday. While I am going to assume it wasn't all the same person that is pretty freakn awesome.

Sorry for the late update but here is some info on the Beaverton Bazaar.
Karis and I left home with high hopes as we headed to the delightful town of Beaverton. We could smell the winds of change and money. We had a very positive feeling and hopes the day would bode well for us.

So of course it started out pretty difficult. Beaverton is a little bit of a jaunt for us to go to. The rain was very intense ( as it usually is in beautiful Oregon) so Karis got to feel what hydroplaning is. But don't worry! We live in Oregon, we know what to do.

When we set our eyes on Beaverton high school we parked up front, for easier unloading of course. We had some early trouble finding our table but soon settled down and set up shop.

<------ There I am. I don't know what I was thinking when I made that face.

              ------->
There is Karis. Like I said, we were having a tough morning.

And toys! Of course toys. And don't worry you guys, we told every customer they could find us on Etsy. (Return customers perhaps?)

All in all it was a great day at Beaverton. We had really great sales and we bought some stuff for christmas.

Try to buy local! Hazzah!

Thanks to the lady who helped find us a table and spot, thanks to the band players who put on beautiful music brought us pizza to buy and bought some toys from us.

Want to buy something? Find us on Etsy.
Like us on Facebook. (Don't forget to share some of our posts so your friends can like us too!)

This up coming weekend, December 1st, we are going to be at Cascade Heights public charter school. We have never been to this bazaar and I have never heard of this school. We don't really know what to expect, but you know we are going to look good doing it. ;D

We will update you guys soon.

Bazaar Season Has Begun!

Dea
Last Saturday was our first bazaar of the season! Karis packed all of our stuff into her little Honda and we headed out for Oregon City High School! From 9 to 4 we manned our little booth with pride.

Here is our table!
<----

If you follow us on Facebook you know that I (Dea) took the pictures. Needless to say I am no longer allowed to take pictures.

The high school was HUGE! It was full of vendors that were selling some pretty amazing things.

<--- Karis waiting to make some sweet moola

Karis is no longer allowed to take pictures of me.             ---->

This Saturday we are going to be at the Beaverton High School bazaar. Last year it did a pretty good job of annihilating our inventory. Let's hope this year it has the same effect. *thumbs up*

New addition to the family

Blue = Karis

You know, in between school, work, popping out inventory, and family, I do find time to make patterns... Occasionally.

So lets all meet Muchi, shall we?

He kind of gets confused easily
But he loves keeping things in his pocket!

I loooove Munchi. He's so cute and cuddable.

Our first bazaar is this weekend in Oregon City otherwise I'd post him to Etsy.

I'm apart of this team called "Ugly cute" and I think Muchi is pretty munch the definition. What do you think?

Made our goal!

Dea
As we may have mentioned in our blog our goal for this bazaar seasons was 250 toys/product.
We just took inventory and we made our goal.
Totally feel like a righteous fist pump is perfectly appropriate.
Want to see what 250 product looks like?

Please try to ignore the massive amounts of manga and movie posters. :)
It's hard to believe that we made all of those toys. ALL OF THEM. I'm sorry wrists. I hope carpal tunnel is kind to us. While we were looking through we found a couple toys that had special meaning to us.

I had completely forgotten about FrankenKitty. I hope he finds a perfect home that can appreciate him for the loveable disfigured beast that he is.
On the right is Karis with the first Owl she made. She wrote a pattern for it and now we attempt to mass produce them in wonderful colors.

If you want to try and catch us in person to squeeze our loveable crocheted goods like us on Facebook!
Where we update with dates, times and places we will be.
See you there!

These come a very talented lady named Shoshi who runs an adorable little store named Shusha Handmade Art And all of her creations are simply squeal inducing!

You really must check out her store, even just to sneak a peak, and put this on your Christmas list. But I call dibs on the tribal print one. ;]

Etsy friends

Since opening our shop on Etsy we've met so many talented kind people!

Today I'd like to promote a little shop named Texaslils

She has some fabulous scarves and adorable booties! She's a fellow crocheter living in NC (Which we assume is North Carolina)

Here's our favorite item from her shop <3

We love custom orders

Blue = Karis

I don't know if it's publicly known yet but Dea and I love doing custom orders. We make these, we call them "big dolls", that are just perfect for customization.

And we had just such an order come in.

One of Dea's co workers is expecting a new grand baby and really loved our dog pattern. She gave us the baby's theme colors and Dea made an acute observation that her co worker is a very big blazer fan. (Oregons NBA basketball team. Go blazers)

And so we got Dylan! :D

As you can see Dylan really likes the Blazers too.

This made Dea's co worker so excited. She loved it! And it was so much fun to make a wee little blazer jersey.

Now her new grand baby needs a jersey and then they can match :)

Craft update

Blue = Karis

So, I took one class this summer and just took my final. That means no studying. Or homework. Or anything. It's a weird concept.

And my job is at the wee hours of the morning so by 10 o' clock am, when I clock off, I've already worked a full shift.

So due to me not having class until fall term starts and only working in the mornings I have expansive days set before me. I can do anything I want! It makes me giddy as a school girl!

While most of my time is spent playing Pokemon Conquest (so addicting) I've been able to explore some leisurely crafts.

Check out what I made!
They're leaves! Leaves.  This makes me feel like a champion among men. A champion.

I don't think you can imagine how excited I was. Imagine a kid in a toy store and then you surprise them with a hundred dollar bill.

I was at work and saw this book.

It's a wonderful book full of gorgeous stitches. It's perfect to have on your shelf as a reference or to flip through for ideas. It's going to be my best friend <3

I made this with some sugar n' cream yarn to make a dish scrubby. (The fanciest dish scrubby on the block) I'm going to make a couple with different stitches and gift them to my boyfriends mom for Christmas. Thumbs up for multitasking.

Check out what else  I made.

Believe it or not

Blue = Karis

It finally happened. Yes, my dear friends, I finally opened my Etsy shop. *heroic music plays*

It took me a good 2 hours but it has been done! There are only a few item up but there will be more. I'm popping out patterns, stitching, and trying to console my bank account.

Wanna check it out? We're using Dea's account so it pops up under her name, I'm trying to work it so both our names are listed on it. (Or at least mine, tee hee)

One more thing before I go.

Who wants some pony cuteness?

This is the horse pattern I previously mentioned. After a couple of trial runs and tweaking I've become happy with the final product.

As you can see she has golden hooves and a rainbow mane. Her cousins going to be a unicorn.

Yeah, I know. It's pretty awesome.

New obsession

Blue = Karis

Check this out.

I was on the internet, as I do, when I came across these super cute amazing flowers.

OMG they're so pretty! geisha would wear them in their hair, kanzashi flowers. They are super easy to make, it's pretty much origami with fabric

Here are some of our results!

They're in that awkward first learning stage but I just geek at how adorable they are. I love it!

Most of this made possible by glue gun international. Helping people appear like they have skill since 1954

And that's basically what I've been doing. I assembled a few dolls Dea crocheted and have finally finished writing up my horse pattern that's been in the works for a few weeks. I'll make a post about it sometime (maybe). And now I am going to make a dinosaur pattern! Who doesn't love a good dinosaur?

And the Etsy shop is in the works : )

I've signed us up for the Beaverton high school bazaar which is on November 17 and should be amazing but now I'm being paranoid about stock. It should all work out in the end because crafting is the only thing that keeps me sane.

See you next time!

Finally

Blue = Karis

Spring term is finally done! Thank goodness.

It was like gogogo and then stop. And our production kind of went the same way, slow down to non existent.

But now we are gathering our wits and trying to find a groove. It seems like as soon as term ended we both got really full schedules at work. Which isn't a bad thing if my shifts didn't start at five in the morning....

But enough jibber jabber! Cuteness I love and cuteness I shall provide.

I had to write a speech about my house for Japanese class and thus make a power point. And of course I had to do some self promotion ; )

 I love orange cats <3
女くま thinks you are so cute!
And all our ami's love the internet

Speaking of the internet I plan to open up an etsy shop sometime this summer. It will be a consignment shop so it will include our work and some from fellow artists in the Portland area. It should be super amazing!

This up coming weekend we have a rugby alumni game, baby cousin birthday parties and our 8 year old nephew is staying with us until September. So lets see how this goes!

がんばって!

Robot Randall

Fuchsia - Dea

IT'S THE FINAL COUNT DOWN!!!

Week 8 out of 11 has officially ended.
As Karis and I struggle to stay afloat amidst the whirl pool of job, school and crocheting......
The end is in sight.

Karis drew a picture of a robot, and I made a pattern for it.
Now don't get excited, it's a tube in various sizes, my pattern making skills are very weak.

This is the first take, He is awful cute isn't he?

And of course I had to make them in bulk! So here is the whole freakn' family. The green one on the end is a little special, but we don't talk about it. We love him just the same.

Karis made me take a picture of this bunny. She thinks he is adorable, and can't wait for him to find a wonderful loving family.
Gag me.
I don't know what rubs me the wrong way about this stupid bunny! I think it's the wild eyes, it makes me want to shoot it.

Did I say that out loud?!
Well darn....

Yoda

Oh, hey. How you been?

I've been busier that snot. Which is saying something.

It's now officially spring term and we are in the full swing of rugby season. So that leaves little time to craft let alone just come home. Dea and I mostly go from place to place and catch naps in our cars.

It is the life we lead

But in the midst of this I am able to do a couple custom orders every now and then.

This is Yoda when he was still a WIP and I know! I forgot to take a picture of him before he went home!

He came out really good : / I gave him legs and pants and little yoda toes...

Like Dea said, our new goal for inventory is 250 and we're sitting on about 140. It's totally doable.

We popped out 8 sushi magnets sitting and watching netflix for 2 hours. We're a perfect team.

I have done art!

Say hello to Charizard! Isn't he great? Adorable?

It was my boyfriends sisters birthday and she knows that I crochet and so she asked me for a Charizard. I didn't really give her an answer because I was so busy with school and I'd have to buy the right color yarn, felt, and make 10 billion pieces and sew them all together.
But then my boyfriend asked. And then bought me storage drawers to put my yarn in.

So here he is! I used Shelly Hedko's amazing pattern.

I improvised on a couple parts (toe nails) and just felted the flame on his tail, which was actually super fun.

And my mom is just smitten with him! She usually says "Oh, that's cute" but she just geeked over Charizard :3

Hello Morgan and her co-workers!

Purple - Dea

Have I mentioned my wonderful cousin Morgan? She is super tall stick thin and goes a mile a minute, but it adds to her wonderful charm. <3

She has been telling her friends about her amazing baby cousins and their wonderful creations. She has passed the word on of our blog and they all said that we do not have enough pictures of our inventory, so here it is.
Pictures of our severely dwindled inventory

Oh wow, is that it?

We need to get on that whole crocheting thing.
Arthritis here we come!!!
