It's what month you say?

Blue = Karis

So. It's September. For like four days now. Who knew, right?

This summer I thought it would be a good idea to branch out of my small circle of college, work, and crafting by working at a summer camp! Yes, it's true. For nearly three months I worked with children teaching them how to operate old looms and weave hand towels. So yes, I also learned how to weave and do maintenance on 50 year old looms. Even though my bank account did not get a boost this summer my resume certainly did.

Any who, since I was lost in the woods for so long it did put a small hiatus on our production of cute things.

But! Did you know Dea moved into a house? You know what that means. Craft room! Yes, my friends. The first day I got back from camp I set up shop in Deas old room and now KayDea Crafts has a work space! It's actually quite glorious. And look at all the toys we got done!

Dea and I have been trying to find creative ways with using our "texture" yarn since we've recently acquired a surplus of it. Monsters abound, my friends!

I myself like the squid in that turquoise. It's adorable!

After being away from life in the city for months I forgot how big our yarn stash was. I am now determined to make myself a formidable opponent by turning as many skeins as possible into toys! Ganbatte! And I still have a few weeks before I go off to university (so scary!) so lets see what we can do!

Happy New year!

Blue = Karis

2013 Bro!

Christmas season has come and gone (finally) but with the whirlwind of the holidays all the opportunities to craft fell through my fingertips! But isn't that how it usually goes? You think you have so much time and then bam, it's over, and there was so much more you wanted to do.

I started a bunch of projects that are now half finished (including a pair of socks for my new baby nephew. Sock status now!) There could be a long list of all of those half finished and ghetto finished projects but lets get onto the good things, shall we?

TADAAA! Can I mention how cool this made me feel? Like a boss. Like a BOSS.

See, I've mentioned that I like pokemon but I'm not sure if the true love, appreciation and obsession was communicated. I am a kid from the '90's, you see.

Both Cleffa and Wooper were printed on 4T shirts. Isn't that cute? Your toddler can have a baby pokemon on their shirt and when they grow up we can make the next evolution in the sequence. :D

Yeah, so, this is most definitely my new craft kick so expect to see some more *thumbs up*

Cascade Heights and PCC!

These past two weeks have been a whirl wind! Between getting ready for finals, slaying finals, bazaars and custom orders we are ready for Christmas break!

Saturday the first we were at Cascade Heights public charter school. Now Karis and I have never heard of this school and I vaguely knew what a charter school was. To say the least we didn't know what to expect. We set up shop the night before and arrived Saturday morning expecting the worst and hoping for the best.

It was a blast! We were busy most of the day and most of the people we were having transactions with were kids. They were pretty amazing.
 Karis of course.
Soon I'll put up pictures of both of us. So you know we are both real.

We loved this bazaar! I heard whispers and them doing it again next year but trying to advertise it more. We will be there. ;D

We met a wonderful lady who was selling reusable sandwich bags that Karis fell in love with. Check her out at her Etsy shop!

And our box farm animals. Always a hit!

The Portland Community College bazaar was interesting. We knew about this one because Karis used to go to PCC for Japanese. So it is understood by all persons involved PCC is a FLYING PONY away from our house. To get there we took the Sellwood bridge which is a nightmare in the morning. After traversing the treacherous roads we made camp in the college center of the campus. It was a very long bazaar (8am - 6pm) and it felt like it was slow going. We did loose quite a bit of sales because we do not accept debit while we are at bazaars. So next year, or maybe as soon as spring, expect us to have the fancy square! The marvelous device that quickly and simply allows us to take your money.

WOW! This is a longer than usual post. I am sorry for the longedness and dryedness. I hope future posts are more joyful and glorious.

I want to give a shout out to one of our followers Markus. Follow his blog here. Here is a cute male fellow who lives in Europe, as I'm told. He has an adorable pattern on his blog for a christmas tree. Thanks for being amazing Markus!

We love custom orders

Blue = Karis

I don't know if it's publicly known yet but Dea and I love doing custom orders. We make these, we call them "big dolls", that are just perfect for customization.

And we had just such an order come in.

One of Dea's co workers is expecting a new grand baby and really loved our dog pattern. She gave us the baby's theme colors and Dea made an acute observation that her co worker is a very big blazer fan. (Oregons NBA basketball team. Go blazers)

And so we got Dylan! :D

 As you can see Dylan really likes the Blazers too.

This made Dea's co worker so excited. She loved it! And it was so much fun to make a wee little blazer jersey.

Now her new grand baby needs a jersey and then they can match :)

Craft update

Blue = Karis

So, I took one class this summer and just took my final. That means no studying. Or homework. Or anything. It's a weird concept.

And my job is at the wee hours of the morning so by 10 o' clock am, when I clock off, I've already worked a full shift.

So due to me not having class until fall term starts and only working in the mornings I have expansive days set before me. I can do anything I want! It makes me giddy as a school girl!

While most of my time is spent playing Pokemon Conquest (so addicting) I've been able to explore some leisurely crafts.

Check out what I made!
They're leaves! Leaves.  This makes me feel like a champion among men. A champion.

 I don't think you can imagine how excited I was. Imagine a kid in a toy store and then you surprise them with a hundred dollar bill.

I was at work and saw this book.

It's a wonderful book full of gorgeous stitches. It's perfect to have on your shelf as a reference or to flip through for ideas. It's going to be my best friend <3

I made this with some sugar n' cream yarn to make a dish scrubby. (The fanciest dish scrubby on the block) I'm going to make a couple with different stitches and gift them to my boyfriends mom for Christmas. Thumbs up for multitasking.

Check out what else  I made.

Believe it or not

Blue = Karis

It finally happened. Yes, my dear friends, I finally opened my Etsy shop. *heroic music plays*

It took me a good 2 hours but it has been done! There are only a few item up but there will be more. I'm popping out patterns, stitching, and trying to console my bank account.

Wanna check it out? We're using Dea's account so it pops up under her name, I'm trying to work it so both our names are listed on it. (Or at least mine, tee hee)

One more thing before I go.

Who wants some pony cuteness?

This is the horse pattern I previously mentioned. After a couple of trial runs and tweaking I've become happy with the final product.

As you can see she has golden hooves and a rainbow mane. Her cousins going to be a unicorn.

Yeah, I know. It's pretty awesome.
